RK Planner

This clinical knowledge-based system produces RK and AK primary and enhancement surgical plans to assist the refractive surgeon pre-, intra- and post-operatively. Additionally, the program maintains a database of the patient’s refractive history, and is thus designed for connecting with a Outcomes Analysis program. The program embodies the expertise of four leading refractive surgeons: Drs. Charles Casebeer, Spencer Thornton, Kerry Assil and Lee Nordan.

The printout below is a pre-operative plan for a bilateral combined RK and AK surgery, using Dr. Casebeer's technique. The surgeon typically hangs this upside-down in the Operating Room, in surgeon’s view (the surgeon is behind the patient’s head). For this reason. the graphical surgical plan and the surgery’s main parameters are printed upside-down for easy reference.
