This
software product designs RGP contact lenses to optimally match the shape of
the patient’s cornea
The product has a 91% first-lens fit rate and has been shown, by a
published
independent clinical study
by Loretta B. Szczotka, OD, MS, FAAO, to reduce patient
chair time by more than 50%.
The
software uses a novel fitting technique based on automatically
compensating for corneal eccentricity, for maximizing patient comfort and goodness-of-fit.
The attached screen printout shows a fluorescein simulation for a
with-the-rule astigmatic cornea. This screen allows the clinician to evaluate the lens-cornea relationship as a
whole, and along any meridian, at the click of a mouse. The clinician can
alter any of the lens parameters and get immediate visual and quantitative
feedback about the fit. |
